14. Bird gets home from church and talks about Mark 10:13 in the Bible. Little Children and Jesus, and The Rich Young Man
We must become like little children … and trust God … and not be like the rich young man … who trusts money … and is unable to follow Christ because of that.
13. Bird was asked why God doesn’t prove he exists. He does, of course. Just not in the way most people want.
…Ok you want contemporary modern day proof … because God does prove that he exists, all the time to people … here’s how he decisively does it … he proves it by being born within that person and giving that person a second birth …

… this isn’t like a transactional thing, a pros and cons thing … it’s about what’s true and what’s right … why should you come to Christ … ? “…humanity mistakes technology for progress… it actually thinks technology is progress … so what is progress … depends where you’re trying to go … if you’re trying to avoid God just follow the world … but if you want to experience God and be restored to God then progress is moving towards God … as individuals I strongly urge you to … there’s only really one question … whose side do you want to be on … pick a side …
8. Bird explores the cost of following Jesus. And of not doing.
“…there is a cost, and one of the costs is you won’t like sin any more… you become drawn to the things of God and repelled by the things of evil… Before you were a pig that falls into the mud and enjoys it … now you are a sheep that falls into the mud and is distressed by it…You will feel the connection to God and that is the measure by which you will do things… you’ll want more God… that’s really all you’ll want… The cost is everything you were … and the gain is everything you will be.”
7. Forgiveness. It works both ways.
“…there’s a side that pertains to justice … and there’s a side of it that pertains to forgiveness … you have to practice forgiveness …. practising forgiveness is a profound way of drawing the attention of God … we are forgiven our sin, our sin of rebellion against God … humanity is rendered blind to God, deaf to God, unmindful of God … humanities fallen condition creates even a disinterest in God … there was a rebellion which is why there must be a forgiveness … and the forgiveness must be received…”

“… the Kingdom of God … enters into everything … make every effort to enter through the narrow door… that’s Jesus Christ explaining himself … one door … a narrow one … obviously Christ is the door that leads to eternal life with Christ … does everyone want that … I don’t think that they do … they don’t want the door… the truth is God loves you all massively … it’s easy to forget that God loves us with a love that’s transformative … if there’s two houses and you hate the owner of one house how can you go to that house … people reject God all the time …
5. Bird feels grouchy so dismantles atheism to make himself feel better.
“… there was nothing then there was … a perfect universe with everything in balance … everything shall become one … gravity … but it came out of nothing and nowhere … atheists always mock … they have this intellectual vanity caused by them refusing to introspect … to think the universe came from nothing is impossible and a folly … dead things can’t create life … nor can non living things create life … yet you think all life came from a non living thing … the truth is you don’t know if God is real or not but because you hate God you take an antagonistic approach to God … why do atheists think like this … why do they hate God … because their spirit hates God …
4. Bird talks about a treasure hidden in a field. And humanity being on death row for treason.
“…. it’s all about experience … it’s one thing to believe … but belief should lead to experience … belief has to be acted upon for it to be real … I’m not interested in opinions … I’m not even that interested in beliefs … I’m interested in facts … and experience … of God… there is a treasure by the way hidden in a field … don’t confuse the map for the treasure … people tend to do what they are … God is not like us … it’s quite possible this world is a prison … Jesus speaks of coming to free the prisoners … those captive … imagine you’re in prison … on death row … for treason against the King …. it’s not about fitting in with the prison culture … it’s about addressing the reason why you’re in prison … what a terrible thing to be treasonous against the King of Heaven … why be in rebellion against God … it’s because they have the spirit of rebellion …
3. Bird talks about receiving the Holy Spirit of God and experiencing God in this life and the ways the world is designed to distract from that.
“… everything in the world is inverted pretty much … our society is structured as if God is not real … humanity is a blend of Good and evil and the evil side of humanity is highly resistant to God … the spirit that is within humanity that is opposed to God is really opposed to God … it’s a fact that most people would rather die than give their life to Jesus Christ … one path one Way one choice … then a countless number of competing choices … with a motivation to cause you to not take the one choice … one path to immortality that begins in this life … and everything else is a distraction … bend the knee … surrender … submit… every other ideology trying to be your identity is false… just as the world does not want you to find and seek and follow the Way and be transformed … your own inner being does not want you to find and seek and follow the Way and be transformed … hard isn’t it …
